Find Your Rasi + Lagna by Birth Time

Sun rasi · Moon rasi · Lagna — Thai sidereal (Lahiri) method

Rasi is your birth sign computed from the Sun's sidereal position (Thai/Vedic zodiac), which runs about 24 days behind the Western tropical zodiac. Lagna is the sign rising on the eastern horizon at the moment of birth — the starting point of all 12 houses. Finding your rasi needs only a birth date; finding your lagna needs the birth date, time, and place together.

Enter your birth date to see your rasi (Sun sign) and Moon sign instantly. Add your birth time and province and we compute your Lagna — the sign rising on the eastern horizon at the moment you were born. The Lagna anchors all 12 houses, so it's the most important point in a birth chart.

Why Thai signs differ from the ones you know

Thai astrology uses the SIDEREAL zodiac (aligned to the actual fixed stars) with the Lahiri ayanamsa — about 24 days behind the TROPICAL zodiac used by Western magazines. Someone born on 20 April is Taurus in Western astrology but still Aries (เมษ) in the Thai system. We compute the real Sun position with Swiss Ephemeris, so it's more accurate than reading off a date table.

Frequently asked questions

Can I find my lagna without a birth time?+

Yes, but the lagna will be approximate. When the birth time is unknown we use the Surya-Lagna convention (lagna = the Sun's sign), the standard Thai/Vedic fallback. Your Sun rasi and Moon rasi are still accurate because they don't depend on the horizon. For a real lagna, enter your birth time.

Why doesn't my Thai sign match the one from magazines?+

Thai astrology uses the sidereal zodiac (aligned to the real fixed stars) with the Lahiri ayanamsa — about 24 days behind the Western tropical zodiac. Someone born 20 April is Taurus in Western astrology but still Aries in the Thai system. We compute the real Sun position with Swiss Ephemeris, so it's more accurate than a date table.

Why does the lagna matter?+

The lagna is the sign rising on the eastern horizon at birth and the start of the 12 houses (house 1 = lagna), so it determines which house each planet falls in. The lagna shifts about one sign every two hours, so getting it right needs an accurate birth time.

What's the difference between Sun rasi and Moon rasi?+

Sun rasi (the Sun's sign) is what people usually mean by 'what's your sign'. Moon rasi (Janma Rasi) is the Moon's sign, considered the primary rasi in Vedic prediction. We show both side by side.
